“Mortar Matching” (M.M) is a bricks & mortar repointing service.
Over 40 years of successful hands-on residential and commercial bricklaying experience is behind Mortar Matching.
The (M.M) Service offers; quality mortar repointing and mortar matching.
Particular attention is paid to the preservation of surrounding masonry and mortars.
The prevention of staining and/or disturbing masonry items within the scope of works is at the forefront of Mortar Matchings working ethos.
M.M consistently refers to specialist technical guides written by Geologist & Australian Heritage Consultant David Young (OAM). In particular the latest technical guide “mortar, materials, mixes and methods” released November 2021. (this technical guide is supported by heritage councils in each state.)
M.M. is a newly registered small business (1 x man) operated by a qualified craftsman with over 40 years of experience in all things bricks and mortar.
M.M. Services offered are:
*Repointing of traditional mortars: NHL hydraulic limes.
*Repointing of cement based composition mortars. (with or without oxides)
*Mortar matching – matching the colour and texture of an already existing, in-situ, mortar. Required for: repair works, extensions and additions.
*Small scale (1 x man) brick repairs. My focus is repointing.

*Diploma of Vocational Education and Training Practice – Bricklaying Teacher.

*Worksafe Intermediate Scaffold Licence – licence to perform high risk work.
*Heavy Rigid truck licence.
