Practical Archaeology Services is a small Archaeology Consulting Business, and has operated in Victoria for almost 40 years, many of those based in Geelong. Practical Archaeology Services undertakes projects involving both Aboriginal cultural material (including Cultural Heritage Management Plans and salvages), and Historic archaeological sites, as well as Maritime Infrastructure sites. We have solid expertise and experience in research, field survey, subsurface testing and excavation, monitoring, artefact analysis and report preparation. We have consistently undertaken Historic Archaeological projects and Maritime Infrastructure projects, large and small, within Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula, and across the Western District including Port Fairy, Warrnambool and Portland.
