Steven Sklifas is an experienced professional photographer, writer and researcher specialising in architecture, heritage places, historic interiors, cultural landscapes and visual documentation.
With more than two decades of professional photography experience, Steven brings a considered and sympathetic approach to recording places of architectural, historical, and cultural significance. His work encompasses building exteriors and interiors, architectural details, historic fabric, landscapes, gardens, archaeological sites, and the broader relationship between heritage places and their surrounding environment.
Steven has photographed extensively throughout Australia and internationally, with a particular interest in historic architecture, ancient sites, cultural landscapes, and places where architecture, history, and landscape intersect. His photography has been published and licensed internationally, including work for organisations and publishers such as The Guardian, Lonely Planet and Oxford University Press.
Alongside photography, Steven is an experienced writer and researcher with a particular interest in history, heritage, architecture, archaeology, landscapes, and cultural storytelling. His work combines visual documentation with researched narrative, offering the potential for integrated photography and written interpretation where appropriate.
