Established in 2019, Conservation Studio is a highly skilled architectural and conservation practice with extensive local and international experience in applied conservation and adaptation of built heritage.
Our team comprises highly skilled individuals that provide a range of heritage planning, historical research, and conservation experience. Our in-depth understanding of conservation and heritage is derived from the principles of The Burra Charter.

Our studio’s approach to the delivery of a project is holistic and collaborative. We work closely with clients to understand their brief, enabling us to facilitate design, conservation, and heritage services that address the specific needs of the scope and the heritage fabric.
Conservation Studio engages in the applied conservation of heritage buildings, providing our clients with highly specialised expertise in conservation, architecture, and historic materiality. For many of our clients, we provide a ‘hands on’ approach to the management of projects which includes the scoping and preparation of projects at concept level, through the delivery of construction, and beyond.
We provide a broad range of services which includes masterplans, studies, assessments, and advisory services, through to design, heritage approvals processes, tendering and construction services, all related to the conservation and management of built heritage.
Our unique perspective on conservation is derived from the principles of The Burra Charter, informing our designs and resulting in a sensitive approach to an existing site. Our philosophy of conservation for built heritage maintains a focus on minimising intervention, and whilst we understand that some loss of heritage fabric may be inevitable, we seek to maximise retention of existing buildings to enable their continued use.
Since establishing Conservation Studio in 2019, we have enjoyed regenerating client relationships with a refreshed enthusiasm for the delivery of their projects. These renewed relationships have helped us establish a rapidly growing practice at the forefront of conservation in Australia.
